They pay a discounted online price that is lower than the suggested retail price (the price you would sell your products for locally). You can locate retail customers through advertising, direct referral, search engine, etc.; or, they may even be people you already know. Retail customers are those who make a one time purchase, but do not want to commit to a monthly purchase.
Some customers will want to set up an automated Preferred Customer account so they don't have to remember to order each month. They don't want to build a business, but they want to receive a recurring shipment of products.
To attract customers, your advertisements should be directed at selling product - not recruiting. They will see the Distributor program when they get to your store, but don't pressure them to become a Distributor... these are the type of people that want to shop for a quality product... so let them! Not everyone wants to own a business. The most successful and long lasting companies are those that encourage gathering customers.
You make 20% of each Retail purchase and 5% from your frontline's retail sales. Retail purchases of do NOT pay 7-levels upline. Retail purchases do not affect promotions and contest qualifications.
Preferred Customer autoship purchases pay 7 levels upline and are treated just like any other autoship purchase... but Preferred Customers may not build a downline, re-sell products or participate in promotions or contests. You may not place stores under your Preferred Customers and you may not place Preferred Customers under other Distributors.
